So, my car does not have those wonderful DVD players that come out of the ceiling. My son has just gotten into watching tv and really enjoys Disney Jr. (of course). I thought that it would be a great idea to make an iPad holder for the car. I used leftover chevron material from a previous project to make it. I would not say that it is reproduction quality, but it works!

Did you follow a tutorial for this or just wing it?
ReplyDeleteIt's all me just winging it. I traced around my iPad and then measure a 2 inch outline around the area that I traced. I did this twice (for the front and the back piece). The iPad has about a one inch black area between the actually screen and the perimeter, so I also measured and traced an inch outline inside of my original trace line on one of the pieces and cut it out. This way, I could sew a one inch seam for the actual screen area ( hope that makes sense). I also used fabric reinforcement that I ironed on to the pieces to make the fabric less flimsy. I am in the process of making a second iPad case for a friend who really liked mine so I will take pictures and upload when I'm finished to give you a better idea!
