Minnie Mouse Birthday Sign

For my daughter's first birthday, I decided to do a Minnie Mouse themed party. I really like a sign that I found on Etsy. I bought it and then accidentally threw it away a week before the party in a cleaning frenzy! So, I had to make the sign myself. Luckily, I live 5 minutes from Joann's so I made a mad dash there to buy the supplies. I needed:
  • pink and black cardstock
  • silver glitter scrapbooking paper
  • light pink ribbon (1/4 inch)
  • 2 inch letter stencils
  • hole puncher and scissors

Trace pink cardstock. I used a mason jar and a small side plate, The dimensions turn out to be 6x6. You need 7 pink and 6 black  Minnie cutouts in total.

This will be the pink cut out. You need to them take the pink cutout and place on top of back cardstock. You need to trace approximately a 1/4 in bigger than the pink cut out. You will go through the same process for the black
I found a Minnie box in one of my daughter's coloring books that was the perfect size. So, I traced the bow onto the glitter scrapbook paper. You will need 2 pieces of paper in order to make 13 bows.
Glue the pink cut out on top of the black cutout and then add the bow to the top. I used a glue stick to glue and it worked just fine.
After you finish gluing, you will need to trace your letter stencils on to white papers, cut them out, and glue them onto your cutouts. You then, hole punch either side of the ear, and tie each letter cutout together using the pink ribbon. Above is the finished product.

Final thoughts:

Obviously, this project will take time. In total, it took around 3 hours of devoted time to complete the whole project. Between time and the cost or supplies, I honestly believe that the Etsy banner is a bargain! It just depend on whether or not you want it to be made by you!
